Comments: Fire has always been an important driver within the Everglades ecosystem. Today Everglades National Park uses a series of prescribed burns to mimic the natural fires that are required by a variety of species within the park. Thanks to the dense pine wood, this hotspot continued to burn long after the main fire had gone out.
