Sandhill Cranes along the Platte River, Nebraska

 

Upon my approach in a vehicle, the cranes usually walked farther back into the corn fields...

I was lucky to find this cooperative subject!

 

 

 

 

 

Coming in to an evening roost in the Platte River. It was cold just watching them,

so I really can't imagine actually standing in the water all night!
